Faculty Position in Christian Spirituality
The Earlham School of Religion (ESR) seeks candidates for a teaching faculty appointment in Christian Spirituality.  We seek candidates with both academic and practical experience in the area of Christian spirituality, and who know and appreciate the Quaker tradition of spirituality. At a minimum, academic preparation should include the M. Div.; a Ph.D. in spirituality or related fields is preferred.  Teaching experience and practice in spiritual direction is necessary.
The person holding this appointment will teach up to six courses per year in semester long, two-week, and on-line formats, and provide leadership for the annual spirituality conference. Sample courses include Spiritual Formation and Personal Practice, History of Christian Spirituality, Prayer, and Individual Spiritual Direction. The successful candidate will also be invited to develop courses relevant to their own interests so long as they support the objectives of the M. Div. program.
Applicants from the Religious Society of Friends, women, and minorities are encouraged to apply.  Review of applications will begin in January and the search will continue until the position is filled, though it is desirable that the position be filled in fall of the 2010-11 academic year.
A cover letter explaining interest in the position, vita and the names of three references are to be sent to:
