Spring 2013 Ministry of Writing Courses
Join us this spring for exciting Ministry of Writing courses, taught by our visiting adjunct writing professor, Amy Lyles Wilson.
Amy has strong ties to ESR, as she was the Patrick Henry Writing Fellow (now the Mullen Ministry of Writing Fellowship) in 2003, and has also participated as a workshop leader for the Ministry of Writing Colloquium on several occasions. While at ESR this spring, Amy will be teaching the following courses:
Religious Fiction: This survey course will explore examples of religious fiction, from classic to contemporary, so that students might understand how the genre has been used to impart religious/spiritual beliefs across generations.
Writing for Publication: This course will involve development of a book-length project for publication. By the end of the semester, students will complete a first draft of a manuscript (at least 100 pages) as well as a book proposal.
May 2013 Intensive: The Writer’s Voice: This class will invite students to explore their voices, all the while exposing them to the skills and information needed to develop their individual styles.
For full descriptions of these courses, visit this link. And for more information on registering, contact Matt Hisrich, Director of Admissions, at hisrima@earlham.edu or call (800) 432-1377.
