Campus Ministries — Director

Earlham College seeks applicants for a Director of Campus Ministries, beginning July 2008. This full-time position serves liturgical, pastoral, ecumenical, inter-religious and administrative roles. Earlham is offering highly competitive compensation for this administrative faculty appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates College Meeting for Worship, baccalaureate, memorial services and holy day observances.
  • Collaborates with, and provides support and guidance to, student religious life groups and faith communities on campus.
  • Fosters campus-wide theological reflection and ecumenical / inter-religious understanding by initiating, coordinating and promoting a variety of interfaith events.
  • Assists students in integrating their intellectual lives, and commitments to peace and social justice, with their spiritual formation by creating opportunities for theological reflection, spiritual direction and vocational discernment.

Qualifications

  • A Master of Divinity or equivalent degree. In extraordinary circumstances, candidates without this degree, but with particularly relevant work and life experience, will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of, and deep identification with, the Religious Society of Friends.
  • Demonstrated ability for public worship leadership.
  • Working knowledge of, and openness to, faith traditions other than one's own.
  • Developed gifts for pastoral care.
  • Strong administrative and budgetary skills.
