2008 Prospective Student Open House

ESR invites you (and your spouse/partner) to a Prospective Student Open House.

The Open House is planned to coincide with the ESR Spirituality Conference, Saturday March 1st. A gift of free admission to the Spirituality Conference is provided for those wishing to attend the annual ESR Spirituality Gathering, Saturday, March 1st. (This year's theme is: Spirituality & Simplicity. The keynote speaker is Catherine Whitmire, author of Plain Living: A Quaker Path to Simplicity. Small group workshops during this gathering will be offered by a talented group of ESR students, alums and guest leaders.)

Highlights of the Friday Prospective Student Open House

ESR offers you courtesy lodging the evenings of Thursday, February 28th and Friday, February 29th, or Friday February 29 and March 1st at sites of our choosing. Those first registered will be lodged in a block of rooms reserved at the Quaker Hill Conference Center. The Conference Center is willing to have you extend your stay for a third evening at your own expense if desired.

International Festival in Earlham College's Runyon Center, Comstock Room

Charlie's Warehouse in Richmond's historic Starr Heritage area at 416 N. 10th Street. Those wishing to relax and listen to music will enjoy the coffee house atmosphere at Charlie's.

9:30 pm

Ichthys House, 215 College Ave has nightly unprogrammed worship on the edge of the ESR campus. A home full of cozy things — books, recordings, cookies, and open to everyone. Among prior guests have been Henri Nouwen, Madeleine L'Engle, and Elton Trueblood. Host: recorded Friends minister, Clyde Johnson since 1976. Phone 765-962-9352 for more information.
