Student Fees

Registration Fee

All students pay a registration fee of * $100per semester, collected at the beginning of each semester. A portion of this fee will go to the Student Meeting for Business to subsidize funding of student-sponsored activities. The remainder covers administrative costs associated with creating and maintaining students accounts.

Technology Fee

All students pay a * $50 per semester technology fee. This fee contributes to provision of network services and other technological equipment vital to the success of the ESR’s programs.

Occasional Student Fee

Students enrolled as Occasional students pay a * $35 annual continuation fee. In return for this fee, students maintain an active status in ESR’s database and do not need to apply for admission after their initial acceptance into the program. This fee keeps the student on a mailing list to receive an annual listing of course offerings and other events at ESR.

Common Meal Fee

An * $78Common Meal Fee is collected from residential students each semester to help fund this vital community event. ESR Access Students attending Intensive classes on the Richmond campus will be charged * $12each 2-week period.

Late Registration Fee

Students not registering during the announced registration period will be charged a late registration fee of * $50. This will also be applied to students whose registration has a financial hold past the registration period. For students enrolled during the previous semester, registration dates are found on the Academic Calendar. New residential students will register for classes during orientation. New Occasional students or ESR Access students will register on line prior to their first class, and will register electronically for each semester after that.

Audit Fee

The audit fee is * $300per course.

M.A. Continuing Research Fee

M.A. students who have completed the required courses, who are not enrolled for classes or thesis credit, and who continue in residence at ESR will be charged a Continuing Research Fee of * $200 per semester. This fee will cover the costs of community activities, library privileges, and consultation with faculty. M.A. students who are not enrolled and who are not in residence will be charged the fee on a semester by semester basis at any time that they re-establish active consultation with faculty on the thesis project.

Clinical Pastoral Education Fees

Students wishing to receive academic credit for their participation in a Clinical Pastoral Education program will be charged the regular tuition rates for the number of semester hours credit received. ESR will reimburse the institution in which the program is taken. There must be at least a * $100 margin to cover service costs at ESR. Otherwise, in addition to the student’s tuition, there will be a charge sufficient to provide the * $100.

Graduation Fee

All students expecting to graduate must pay a * $100fee at the beginning of the last semester of course work.

Health Care Fee

Infirmary Fee - A * $25-$35fee is charged on a student’s first visit to the Earlham College infirmary. This fee is only paid by those students who actually use the service. Infirmary charges for visits to the doctor’s or nurse’s clinic and medication are minimal and are charged directly to the student’s account.
