ESR Offers Financial Seminars

ESR is offering practical help to students, alumni/ae and area pastors in the form of financial seminars thanks to a Lilly Endowment grant. These free seminars, which will take place this fall, will cover basic money concepts, investment and debt, issues related to income tax and ministry, estate planning, insurance options and strategies, and investments concepts.

Ministry brings many challenges. Thanks to small congregations, meager salaries, and economically depressed times, money is often one of them. Those factors won’t change in the near future, but those called to ministry can become better informed so that their decisions lead to sound financial futures.

The seminars will take place at ESR on the dates below from 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m, and lunch will be included.

September 13
Money Concepts -- Bud Shore, Co-owner of Shoreline Asset Management
Ministers and Taxes -- John Butler, Tax Counsel at CapinCrouse

September 20
Estate Planning -- David Brock, Partner and Attorney, DeFur Voran
Insurance -- John Norris, Founder of Norris Insurance Agency
