ESR Celebrates the Class of 2018
Earlham School of Religion celebrated a new class of inspiring and dedicated ministers entering the world with the graduation of the class of 2018.
The celebration began on Friday, May 4th with our Baccalaureate dinner, where our graduates in attendance were supported by a room full of family, friends, and members of the ESR community.
Tributes of the graduates were offered by teaching faculty, sharing how each has grown and formed their ministry during their time as students at ESR.
Following the dinner, all gathered in Nicarry Chapel at neighboring Bethany Seminary for a moving Baccalaureate service, including touching readings from our soon to be graduates.
Dean Jay Marshall was the invited speaker, sharing his thoughts on twenty years of service to ESR in a message titled, "Laugh When You Can." We then all gathered back in the ESR Center dining room for an informal and enjoyable reception.
Saturday's festivities began with a student-sponsored graduation gala. A lovely brunch was enjoyed by students, their families, and members of the ESR community.
Following brunch, all gathered for the commencement ceremony, which was shared with Earlham College on Chase Stage.
Graduating students this year include:
Master of Divinity:
Eva Abbott (December '18)

Master of Arts:
