Melanie offers her own art imagery and personal reflection on the twists and turns of spiritual journey and ministry.
Melanie Weidner, M.Div., is an artist, spiritual director, and workshop leader shaped by years of Quaker, contemplative, and mindfulness practice. Her work celebrates beauty, presence, self-reflection, compassion, and joy. Melanie’s art appears in numerous publications and private collections. She offers spiritual direction listening sessions by phone or Skype, and participants enjoy her art and spirituality workshops across the US.
Melanie earned a BA degree in Religion with an Art minor from George Fox University 1991, a Master of Divinity degree in Spirituality from the Earlham School of Religion 1998, and a Certificate in the Art of Contemplative Listening from the Namaste Center 2007. In 2002-03, she served as the Minnie Jane Quaker Artist in Residence at the Pendle Hill Quaker Contemplative and Study Center. She’s a member of Spiritual Directors International. She lives with her wonder-full partner, Holly, their dog Tashi, and Milagrita the cat in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
