The classical Paradigm: this lecture traces the way women were understood in the theology of Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, Luther and Calvin. Here women were seen as subordinate in the original order of creation, more guilty than men for the Fall, which mandates coercive subordination to male authorities and ultimate equally according to their merits in heaven, although this did not change their subordinate status on earth.
