How does one market one’s organization with integrity? How does one make a convincing case for the value or benefit of a service without deceiving the prospective buyer? How does one balance the necessity of profit with the virtue of truthtelling?
The 2013 ESR Leadership Conference will address issues such as these as it considers Friendly Marketing: Message, Motive, & Means. We hope you can join us the weekend of August 16th as we explore marketing from a Quaker perspective and how to make it work for your business or organization.
Keynote speakers for this year's conference will be Ian Joyce of August Communication Consultants, and Thomas Jeavons who is currently Scholar-in-Residence at ESR. Ian will share with us The Cultural Imperative for Marketing with Integrity, and Thomas will speak on the theme Can We, Should We, Market Our Faith? to kick off the three day conference.
Workshop topics will include:
Find Your Identity
Applying the Quaker Testimonies to Marketing
Why Not Pastor? Women, Leadership, and Power
Imagination and Leadership: Fire Starting as a Habit
Modeling the Message
Craft Your Message
Truth or Dare: Risks and Relationships in Marketing
Integrity + Interest = Income
Marketing Quakerism: An Inter-Generational Dialogue around Message, Motive and Means
We will also hear from professionals during two panel presentations, one of which will focus on religious organizations and the other, secular. Each panel will discuss the motivation for their work and if it is shared widely within their organization, as well as if that motivation shapes their work and how they share their message.
We hope you can join us!
