Earlham School of Religion is pleased to announce our new Development Coordinator, Tom Decker. Tom is a 2018 graduate of ESR and brings to the position a wealth of experience in developing donor relations and gifts to support the continued ministry of the School.

Peace Church Seminaries Form Cross-Registration Partnership

Bethany Theological Seminary, Earlham School of Religion, and Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) have entered into an open cross-registration agreement. This is the first collaborative effort of its kind among seminaries of the three Historic Peace Church traditions: Church of the Brethren, Quaker (Society of Friends), and Mennonite.

ESR Announces Upcoming Retirement of Stephanie Crumley-Effinger

Stephanie Crumley-Effinger, Director of the Supervised Ministry program, will retire from her position at the close of the 2019-20 academic year. Stephanie has served in this role since 2000. She is a 1981 graduate of ESR, earned her B.A. from Earlham in 1977, and is a recorded Friends minister.

ESR Announces 2019-20 Scholarship Recipients

ESR is pleased to announce scholarship recipients for the 2019-20 academic year. In addition to the Thomas J. Mullen and Nancy Kortepeter Mullen Scholarship, the first Quaker Professional Scholarship is also being awarded.

ESR Celebrates the Class of 2019

Earlham School of Religion celebrated the accomplishments of the class of 2019 May 10-11th with baccalaureate and commencement ceremonies.

On Friday evening, the graduates gathered with family, friends, and the ESR community for a baccalaureate dinner and program to honor their achievements. ESR dean Matt Hisrich provided the welcome, and teaching faculty honored the graduates with tributes to their growth and ministry.

ESR Receives Wabash Center Grant

Earlham School of Religion is pleased to be the recipient of a grant from the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion. The grant funded project, "Preparing Students to Support Diverse Communities by Teaching them to Handle Conflict," is being led by director of the writing program at ESR, Ben Brazil.

Julie DIshman Named Director of Recruitment and Admissions

ESR is pleased to announce Julie Dishman has been named Director of Recruitment and Admissions.

Julie served as the interim director during the 2018-19 academic year, and was previously the Receptionist and Secretary to Admissions and Faculty, which she began in July 2014.

ESR Re-launches Entrepreneurial Ministry Certificate

Earlham School of Religion is excited to announce the re-launch of the Certificate in Entrepreneurial Ministry. The purpose of this certificate program is to provide a clear path forward for entrepreneurs who seek to offer their ministry gifts via forms and avenues outside of the traditional church, and for those who feel a divine call to ministry in contexts without ready-made organizational support.
