ESR Celebrates the Class of 2019
Earlham School of Religion celebrated the accomplishments of the class of 2019 May 10-11th with baccalaureate and commencement ceremonies.
On Friday evening, the graduates gathered with family, friends, and the ESR community for a baccalaureate dinner and program to honor their achievements. ESR dean Matt Hisrich provided the welcome, and teaching faculty honored the graduates with tributes to their growth and ministry.
The dinner was followed by the baccalaureate service in Nicarry Chapel at neighboring Bethany Seminary. Participating graduates each shared their own words based on the theme of Traveling, and professor Lonnie Valentine brought the message, On Pilgrimage: Of Muck and Magic. The service concluded with words of encouragement from the dean.
